Analysis of each question's result
What is your age?
For this question 18% of the people were 12 or under, 0% of people aged 13-15, 73% were aged 16-17, 9% were aged 18-25 and 0% were aged 26+. From these results I can assume my target audience should be teenagers aged 16-17 as they showed some interest in the survey showing that they care about it. However, teenagers are known to use the internet a lot than adults or children, engaging them to media resources enabling them to receive information that reflect on them. My main target audience would therefore be aged 16-17 as they are more engaged to this production than any one else therefore, the product will be manly made for that age group.
What film genre do you prefer?
The two genres that had the highest percentage in results are Drama and Thriller with both having 36%.This is excellent considering the production was going to be drama/thriller. Knowing the majority of the people who answered this questionnaire were aged 16-17. From this I can assume the younger audience /teenagers want to see a thriller and drama opening sequence.
Do you prefer dialogue or voice-overs?
The results we have received from this question is 55% preferred dialogue and 45% preferred voice-overs. From these results I understand that our target audience would want to see dialogue in an opening sequence rather than voice-overs. This suggest voice-overs are becoming increasingly unpopular in which the younger audience want to hear more dialogue. My production would take this to consideration in order for it to appeal to them.
What is your gender?
The percentage of men who answered my survey were 82% with 18% female.
How many movies do you watch per week?
The majority of the people watch between 1-3 movies per week was 58%. This suggest people are engaged to the movie industry in which our production would possibly catch their attention considering they watch that many movies. However, 25% say they watch 0 movies per week which is bad considering movies may not engage them as much as social media, TV show.
Would you watch a thriller film that was made by an independent production?
Everyone who answered had said yes. From this I can understand independent companies such as my self will be seen by people considering they watch independent movies just as much as franchise movies such as marvel etc.
Would you consider an opening sequence important?
The majority of the people had considered the opening sequence important. This therefore means the opening sequence of a film must be good quality in order to persuade the audience to watch the rest of the movie. If the opening sequence is not good, people won't be engaged to watch the rest making it unsuccessful.
